Elegant Glass Nails Files are manufactured in the USA!
80/80, 100/180, 180/180 what does it all mean?
The number represents how coarse the file is. The lower the grit the coarser the file. For example 80 is coarser than 100 and 180 is coarser than 240.
When choosing your nail file you will need to determine what you want it to do. There are many options.
- 80 and 100 grit are typically used to shape artificial nails. These grits will remove a lot of product with each stroke. There are those nail technicians that have found the 100 grit to be useful for natural nails as well. If you have thick hard nails and toe nails and need to file a nail quickly then you will want to use a coarser grit.
- The 180 grit is a good middle ground choice that can be used to shape and finish.
- Sometimes there are ridges and imperfections that need to be buffed out. You should consider using a buffer to file the tops of the natural nail.
Grit numbers make a big difference. Now you will always know how to pick the right one for the right job.
